A major international exhibition spotlighting the latest innovations in security and safety technology is set to begin this Thursday in Dhaka. Titled the International Security and Safety Expo, the three-day event will take place at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB).
Organized by the Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS), I-Station Limited, and Dubai-based tech firm GPE Expo (FZ-LLC), the exhibition will bring together companies from both Bangladesh and abroad. Participants will include manufacturers and importers of security products, as well as software and cybersecurity entrepreneurs.
According to a press release issued on Tuesday by BCS, the expo will be officially inaugurated by Fayez Ahmed Tayyeb, the Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor on Posts and Telecommunications. Alongside product displays, the event will feature several business-to-business (B2B) sessions, offering opportunities for local businesses and startups to engage directly with international tech representatives. Organizers believe this platform will foster stronger connections between global innovations and Bangladesh’s growing security tech industry.
BCS President Mohammad Zahirul Islam commented that Bangladesh’s rapid industrialization, infrastructure expansion, and urbanization have created an urgent need to modernize security systems. He noted that the expo will include not only tech firms but also policymakers and industry experts, providing a comprehensive look at the future of safety technology.
Echoing this sentiment, I-Station Limited Managing Director Madhusudan Saha emphasized the fast-paced changes brought about by the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He pointed out that evolving technologies are also reshaping the nature of security threats. With rising risks to personal, institutional, and national assets, Saha stated that platforms like this expo are essential for applying global technologies to local challenges.
