Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has increased the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the country by Tk 3 per 12 kg.
In the previous three months, the price of LPG had fallen continuously. Last month it decreased by 30 taka.
The announced new rates will be effective from 6 pm on Tuesday. The price of every 12 kg cylinder for July has been fixed at Tk 1,366. Last June the price was 1 thousand 363 taka. 12 kg LPG cylinders are mostly used for domestic purposes.
The new rates were announced at a press conference at the BERC office in the capital today. The company fixes the price of LPG every month. However, it does not appear to be effective everywhere. Chairman of BERC. Nurul Amin announced this new rate. While the import price of LPG remained unchanged, prices rose slightly due to the appreciation of the dollar.
