The location of the Bangladeshi ship MV Abdullah, held hostage by Somalian pirates, has been identified. The ship is located 72 miles off the coast of Garakad, Somalia.

Bangladesh Merchant Marine Officers Association reported this information with reference to International Maritime Bureau (IMB) on Thursday (March 14).

According to the latest information at 6 am on Thursday, the Bangladeshi ship MV Abdullah is located 72 miles off the coast of Garakad, Somalia, the organization said.

On March 4, Bangladesh’s SR Shipping ship MV Abdullah left Mozambique’s Maputo port for the United Arab Emirates with coal.

Last Tuesday around 1:30 pm, the news came that the ship was hijacked in the Indian Ocean. One said the ship’s 23 sailors were taken by speedboat to the coast of Somalia.

Among the sailors aboard MV Abdullah, 11 are residents of Chattogram. The rest are residents of various districts including Feni, Noakhali, Khulna, Faridpur, Sirajganj.

Bangladesh is conducting an international operation to rescue the ship MV Abdullah and the sailors on board. Four international organizations have already been informed about the matter and their assistance has been sought.

It is said that Bangladesh has already informed the Piracy Reporting Center in Kuala Lumpur, the Indian Fusion Center in New Delhi, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operation (UKMTO) and the Office in Singapore under the Regional Cooperation Agreement for the Prevention of Piracy and Armed Robbery in Asia to rescue the 23 sailors aboard the Bangladeshi vessel MV Abdullah. gone Bangladesh has sought cooperation from these organizations.

Apart from this, ships of United Kingdom, United States, India and China operating in the region have also been informed about the location of the Bangladesh ship.
