Code of Conduct Violation
On the final day of form collection, allegations of violating the electoral code were reported. Independent candidate Salman Rahman Sakib, a second-year Philosophy student, collected a form for the executive post of the central union. His supporters were seen clapping and chanting slogans, which is prohibited under election rules. The regulations allow no more than five supporters, and no processions or chanting during form collection.
Sakib responded, saying, “I was the first to collect the form. Some juniors may not have been aware of the rules and unintentionally shouted slogans.”
Chief Election Commissioner Professor Monir Uddin confirmed that the matter is under review and the candidate will be summoned.
