The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain accompanied by thunderstorms in all divisions by Wednesday evening, with heavy downpours expected in three regions. Alongside the rainfall, a slight rise in temperatures has also been predicted.
According to the 24-hour weather outlook issued from 6 p.m. Tuesday to 6 p.m. Wednesday, the monsoon trough stretches from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal across northern Bangladesh to Assam, with an extension reaching the north Bay of Bengal.
Under these conditions, the monsoon remains active over Bangladesh and moderate over the Bay. As a result, light to moderate rain or thunderstorms with temporary gusty winds are likely in most areas of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions; in many places across Rajshahi, Khulna, and Dhaka divisions; and in parts of Barishal and Chattogram divisions.
The forecast further indicates that moderate to heavy rainfall may occur at isolated spots in Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Meanwhile, both daytime and nighttime temperatures across the country are expected to rise slightly.
