Journalist Elias Hossain has accused some individuals of collaborating with members of the Awami League and transferring portions of their wealth and business interests abroad. In a stern warning, he said, “If the Awami League ever returns to power, not even your bones will be found.”
He made these remarks on Monday (September 15) in a post on his verified Facebook page.
Referring to the recent attack on advisor Mahfuz Alam in New York, Elias wrote, “Awami League attacked Mahfuz in New York, and a case was filed over the incident. Later, Golam Mortuza backed off from taking legal action against embassy officials linked to Awami League. As a result, another attack happened in London. If strong action had been taken earlier, such incidents would not have been repeated.”
Elias further stated that Interim Government Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has underestimated the threat posed by the Awami League. “Keeping Awami League figures in key positions and trying to reform the party will only backfire. Wherever you go in the world, attacks will follow you. Soon, during the UN program in New York, you will understand what Awami League truly is. We endured many challenges over the past five years to survive in New York,” he wrote.
He added, “Today, we are disliked by every party simply because we want the Awami League to be wiped out. Those who are now partnering with Awami League members and transferring wealth abroad should remember: if the Awami League ever returns, not even your bones will be found.
