Dhaka — United Nations Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh, Gwyn Lewis, held a meeting with BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at the party chairperson’s office in Gulshan on Sunday (October 5) morning.
The meeting began around 11:00 AM, focusing on ongoing political developments and the country’s evolving democratic situation, according to BNP sources.
During the discussion, several senior BNP leaders were present, including Standing Committee Member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Acting Chairman’s International Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir, and Organizing Secretary as well as Foreign Policy Advisory Committee Member Shama Obaid.
The meeting is seen as part of the UN’s continued engagement with major political parties in Bangladesh amid growing international interest in the country’s political dialogue and human rights issues.
