A meeting between a delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and US official Paul Kapur began on Thursday (March 5) morning in Gulshan, Dhaka.
During the discussion, several issues were raised, with particular focus on the participation of both ruling and opposition parties in the National Parliament. Kapur reportedly sought clarity on how Jamaat plans to position itself in the parliamentary process.
In response, Jamaat representatives said the party intends to play a “vibrant role” in parliament, emphasizing that it will raise issues that protect public interests. The delegation also stated that the party would extend support to the government on all constructive and positive matters.

The Jamaat delegation was led by Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher. Other members included Members of Parliament Md. Rafiqul Islam and Saiful Alam Milon, Barrister Mir Ahmad Bin Quasem (Arman), and former diplomat and former adviser on Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs to the caretaker government Dr. Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury.
