Amidst the discussion about the resignation of the Chief Advisor to the interim government, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, his Special Assistant (Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology) Faiz Ahmed Tayab has posted a post on this matter.
He said that the Chief Advisor will not resign.
Tayab made this known in a message on his Facebook page on Friday (May 23).
He said, ‘Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus’s power is not needed, but for Bangladesh, for the peaceful democratic transition of Bangladesh, Dr. Yunus Sir is needed.’
Faiz Ahmed Tayab said, ‘Rather, the cabinet needs to be more dynamic. The government needs to be more functional, the advisors need to do more work, and visible progress needs to be presented to the public – there can be no disagreement on this. We have to show that the professor has shown success after coming to power with the consent of the people after the mass uprising. ’
‘Dr. Muhammad Yunus has respect from the world community, it is our responsibility to protect it. ’
The special assistant said, ‘I think that the government will have to hold more intensive discussions with the political parties from now on, sit regularly and seek their opinions on various issues. No kind of isolation is desirable. ’
‘In addition, the army will not be able to interfere in politics. In today’s world, the army of no civilized country does not do politics. That is why the army chief could not maintain jurisdictional correctness in his election speech in December. However, the army must be shown the respect it deserves and kept in trust. Nothing can be done hastily on the army issue, nothing can be done stubbornly. Likewise, the rehabilitation of the Awami League cannot be sought in the name of inclusiveness. The Bangladesh Army is our pride and a place of trust – no one will violate that. ’
Faiz Ahmed Tayab further said, ‘I hope that the elections will be held sometime in April-May after completing the necessary preparations, but this is my personal opinion. At this time, all the logical reforms have to be completed, the July charter has to be made. However, according to the roadmap given from December to June, only Sir has the authority to announce the exact date of the elections. No one else can hijack Sir’s authority. ’
He said, ‘In July-August-25, we will celebrate the one-year anniversary of the July mass uprising nationally for two months, God willing. And I also hope that the first verdict of the trial of the dictatorial murderer Hasina will see the light of day by August. God willing, we will not lose, we cannot be defeated. Long live the revolution. Long live Professor Yunus. Long live Bangladesh. ’
