Rangamati correspondent: It has been reported that more than 700 tourists are stuck in Sajek Valley Tourist Center of Rangamati Baghaichhari Upazila. 700 tourists going to Sajek tourist center were stuck on Monday (1 july) due to the Machalong bridge on Baghaihat road of Sajek being submerged in water.

Assistant General Secretary of Sajek Cottage Owners Association Matijoy Tripura said that on Monday, about 125 small and big vehicles came to Sajek and Baghaihat road and Machalong Bridge were submerged in water. About 700 tourists who came to Saje are stuck.

He said that all the vehicles that arrived on Monday are in good condition. The water is rising does not seem to be possible to drive today (2 july). On the other hand, in the morning, even from Khagrachari, no vehicle could enter the village. It has caused panic among many tourists.

Rangamati Baghaichhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shirin Akhter said that due to continuous heavy rains in Baghaichhari, the lower areas were flooded. So that about two thousand families are watertight. Although 55 shelters have been opened in the upazila, no one has come yet. And Baghaihat road is submerged in water, tourists are stranded. No one can go out until the water recedes.
