The Arab Parliament has strongly condemned Iran’s reported missile and drone attacks targeting Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Jordan, describing the strikes as a serious threat to regional security and stability across the Middle East.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi said the attacks constitute a clear violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the affected Arab states. He also said the actions breach international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter.
Al Yamahi warned that the latest escalation could further heighten tensions in the Middle East, undermining ongoing efforts to promote peace, security, and long-term regional stability.
The Arab Parliament expressed its full solidarity with the countries affected by the attacks and reaffirmed its support for the measures they are taking to safeguard their territories, citizens, and residents.
According to the statement, any attack on the sovereignty or territorial integrity of an Arab nation represents a threat to the collective security of the Arab world. The Parliament called on the international community to adopt a firm and effective response to prevent further escalation.
The organization also urged the United Nations and the UN Security Council to take immediate action to prevent additional attacks, ensure accountability for those responsible, and uphold international law.
Al Yamahi emphasized that with tensions continuing to rise across the Middle East, the global community must intensify diplomatic efforts to prevent the outbreak of wider conflict. He also called for stronger regional and international cooperation to preserve peace, stability, and security throughout the region.
