Iran has issued an urgent warning to several Gulf nations while claiming responsibility for coordinated missile and drone attacks targeting two major U.S. military installations in Kuwait, according to a report by Al Jazeera published on Saturday.
The warning was delivered by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which urged the governments of regional countries to immediately activate their civil defense systems and take precautionary measures to protect civilians.
According to the IRGC statement, authorities were advised to evacuate civilians from areas surrounding potential military targets and U.S. military facilities, citing the possibility of further escalation.
Iran alleged that the territories of several Gulf states are being used as operational hubs for U.S. military activities directed against Tehran. The statement asserted that such use of neighboring countries’ territory would not be tolerated.
The IRGC’s Ground Forces also claimed to have launched waves of drones and powerful rockets at Camp Arifjan, one of the largest U.S. military logistics bases in Kuwait. Iranian officials alleged that the attack resulted in casualties among U.S. military personnel stationed at the facility.
In addition, Tehran claimed its forces carried out a simultaneous strike on Ali Al Salem Air Base, another key U.S. military installation in Kuwait. According to the IRGC, the attack disabled the base’s primary radar system and destroyed a major weapons maintenance hangar as well as a drone operations facility.
The claims made by Iran have not been independently verified, and there has been no immediate confirmation from U.S. or Kuwaiti authorities regarding the reported attacks or the alleged damage.
The developments come amid heightened regional tensions, raising concerns over the potential for a broader military confrontation in the Middle East.
