The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has announced a new initiative called “Public Hearing Day” to help resolve long-standing civic issues through active public participation and citizen engagement.
According to a public notice issued by the city corporation on Friday (March 6), the initiative aims to create a direct platform where residents can discuss their concerns and seek solutions to various urban problems.
The notice stated that DSCC Administrator and freedom fighter Md. Abdus Salam has taken the initiative to hold direct discussions with city residents at his office in the Nagar Bhaban.
Under the new plan, the “Public Hearing Day” will be held every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. During months other than Ramadan, the hearing sessions will continue until 5:00 p.m.
During these sessions, citizens will have the opportunity to directly raise various civic issues, complaints, and service-related concerns with the administrator. The city authority hopes the program will help find sustainable solutions to urban challenges through greater public involvement.
Residents under the jurisdiction of Dhaka South City Corporation have been encouraged to attend the weekly hearings and share their opinions and problems directly with the administrator.
