Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has also agreed with the demand made by BNP for creating national unity in the larger interest of the country and the nation.

On Thursday evening, Jamaat-e-Islam Bangladesh Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said this in response to a question from journalists after a meeting with the Chief Advisor of the Interim Government Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

Earlier, four leaders of the party led by the Jamaat-e-Islami Amir held a meeting with the Chief Advisor at his residence in Jamuna.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that there was a discussion with the Chief Advisor about staying united on national issues. The issues that have recently caused concern in the minds of the people were discussed. There was a lot of discussion on how to solve the problems by uniting.

The Amir said that there was a discussion about solving the issues that are angering the people, including the rise in commodity prices. He said that the prices of commodities should be within the purchasing power of the people. In addition, discussions were held on the issue of ensuring that no one can create an artificial crisis during Ramadan.

In response to journalists’ questions about the election, Shafiqur Rahman said that the election should be held quickly after minimum reforms. We have proposed more than 40 reforms. However, we have proposed reforms on 10 issues to the interim government. As a result, it has been proposed to hold the election after the minimum reforms.

On the ISKCON issue, the Jamaat Amir said that not only ISKCON, but also those involved in anti-national activities should be brought under the law.

Apart from the Jamaat Amir, the delegation included Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General AHM Hamidur Rahman Azad, Maulana Abdul Halim, and Central Executive Council Member Saiful Alam Khan Milon.

Earlier, a five-member BNP delegation met with the chief advisor on Wednesday. After the meeting, the party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir spoke to the media.

Mirza Fakhrul said that national unity is the most needed now. We have many big challenges ahead of us. To face that challenge, especially to resist and deter those who threaten the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh or want to destroy stability, we must build national unity. These are the words we have been saying.

In addition, the BNP has conveyed its concerns to the chief advisor regarding the activities of the last few days, the party’s secretary general said.
