Good news for Bangladeshis living in Greece. 3 thousand 405 Bangladeshis got permission to live legally in Greece. Greece granted this permission under a memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries in February 2022.

10 thousand 337 Bangladeshis applied for residence permit in the European country. After screening, 1,099 applications were rejected based on the Schengen visa report.

The remaining 5,900 applications are in process, according to Greece’s Ministry of Immigration and Asylum.

Any Bangladeshi applicant who has stayed in Greece for two years till February 9, 2022 and has 2 years validity in their passport is considered eligible to apply.

However, before making this application, the applicants have to register their names through the Bangladesh Embassy in Athens. This registration is going on from January to December last year.

This year also 113 Bangladeshis have applied for residence permit in Greece in the same process.
