On Sunday (September 14) afternoon, during a visit to the Pakshi Divisional Railway Diesel Locomotive Running Shed in Ishwardi, Pabna, senior railway official Fahimul Islam shared plans to make Bangladesh Railway a profitable sector.
He stated that the interim government has taken multiple initiatives to revitalize the railways. “Rail will no longer serve only as a passenger transport system but will also be developed as a key mode of freight transport,” he said.
Present at the event were West Zone Railway General Manager Farid Ahmed, Chief Engineer Ahmed Masum, Pakshi Divisional Railway Manager Liaquat Sharif Khan, Pakshi Divisional Bridge Engineer Anwar Hossain, and West Zone Railway Security Force Chief Commandant Zaherul Islam, among others.
