BNP leaders held a meeting with US officials

The top leaders of BNP met with Afrin Akhtar, Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asia of the United States Department of State.

The meeting was held on Saturday (February 24) at a hotel in the capital.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and Organizing Secretary Shama Obaid were present in the meeting.

The US Embassy in Dhaka said that in the meeting with the BNP Secretary General, the current political scenario in Bangladesh and the thousands of opposition activists in jail were discussed. This involvement will continue in the coming days.

Apart from Afrin Akhter, US Ambassador to Dhaka Peter Haas was also present in the meeting.
