A wedding in Feni has become a heartwarming example of love beyond borders, as a young woman from the Philippines traveled to Bangladesh to marry her longtime partner.
The marriage ceremony of Jenny, 32, and Sujan Pal, 34, was held on Wednesday (March 4) night at the Feni Central Kali Temple, following traditional Hindu rituals.
From Qatar to a Lifelong Bond
According to family sources, groom Sujan Pal is a resident of Darapanagar village in Kabirhat upazila of Noakhali district. His father is Hiralal Pal. Sujan had been living and working in Qatar for several years.
He first met Jenny in Qatar in 2018. What began as an introduction gradually turned into friendship and later blossomed into a deep romantic relationship. After nearly eight years together, the couple decided to tie the knot.
To start their new life, Jenny traveled from the Philippines to Bangladesh, where the wedding was arranged at the temple in Feni.
Joyful Beginning
Expressing her happiness, Jenny said she is delighted to see their long relationship reach fulfillment. She added that she has enjoyed her time in Bangladesh and feels impressed by the hospitality, environment, and warm behavior of the people.
Sujan Pal said that after eight years of commitment, they are finally united as husband and wife. He sought blessings and prayers from everyone for their new journey together.
The wedding was conducted by priest Shri Nimai Chandra Chakraborty, who confirmed that the ceremony was completed in accordance with Hindu religious customs and with the consent of both families.
Family members of the groom attended the event and offered their blessings. The cross-cultural love story has drawn significant local attention, with many residents gathering to see the bride from abroad and congratulate the newlyweds.
