The long-anticipated July Declaration is set to be formally presented to the nation today at 5:00 PM. The historic announcement will be made at a mass public gathering on the South Plaza of the National Parliament, with representatives from all parties involved in the recent popular uprising expected to attend.
According to Abul Kalam Azad Mojumdar, Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Advisor, Bangladesh Television (BTV) will broadcast the entire event live.
Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus is scheduled to be present at the ceremony.
In a press release issued on Sunday, the interim government confirmed that the final draft of the July Declaration has been completed. The statement added, “The declaration will be officially presented to the people on Tuesday, August 5, at 5:00 PM.”
The July Declaration is widely viewed as a roadmap for Bangladesh’s political transition following the collapse of the previous regime, signaling a new chapter in the country’s democratic journey.
