Tunisia and Turkey have officially announced that Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on May 27 this year.
According to international media reports, Tunisia became the first country in the world to formally declare the date of the Islamic festival.
Based on the Islamic lunar calendar, the first day of the month of Zilhajj is expected to begin on Monday, May 18. Since Eid-ul-Adha is observed on the 10th day of Zilhajj, the festival is scheduled to fall on May 27.
Turkey traditionally determines Islamic festival dates through astronomical calculations rather than relying solely on moon sightings. Authorities there confirmed the Eid date using scientific methods and calendar projections.
Muslims around the world celebrate Eid-ul-Adha as one of the most significant religious festivals, commemorating the spirit of sacrifice and devotion.
