The physical condition of Mirza Abbas, a standing committee member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, has shown significant improvement after undergoing extensive medical treatment and close observation in Malaysia. He is expected to return to Bangladesh in the first week of June if his recovery continues positively.
The latest update on his health condition was shared on Saturday by his wife, Afroza Abbas, while speaking to journalists at Prince Court Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur, where the senior BNP leader is receiving treatment.
Quoting doctors, she said Mirza Abbas is now in a much more stable condition compared to earlier stages of his illness.
On Saturday evening local time, expatriate Bangladeshi journalists visited the hospital and met with the veteran politician to inquire about his health and treatment progress.
Doctors overseeing his care said he remains under special observation following several medical examinations. They noted that he is gradually recovering under close supervision and expressed satisfaction with his ongoing physical improvement.
Afroza Abbas also said that, based on medical advice, Mirza Abbas is currently undergoing rehabilitation therapy alongside taking adequate rest. Every stage of his treatment is being monitored carefully by the medical team.
As part of his recovery process, doctors have advised limited movement, and he has been spending short periods each day moving around the hospital premises in a wheelchair.
Meanwhile, expatriate supporters and BNP activists living in Malaysia have been regularly visiting the hospital to see the party leader and inquire about his condition. Mirza Abbas has also been interacting with visitors during his recovery.
Several BNP-affiliated leaders and members of the Bangladeshi community in Malaysia were present during the media interaction. Family members and party leaders requested prayers from people across the country for Mirza Abbas’s full recovery.
