A departmental case is being filed against the accused after the arrest of the freelancer and threats of prosecution and crossfire and withdrawal of crores of Takas from his mobile phone.
This directive was issued in an office order signed by CMP Commissioner (Additional IGP) Krishna Pada Roy.
In the instructions given on March 12, it is said that on March 1, a 3-member investigation committee was formed on the orders of the CMP’s office regarding the news published in various media. The formed committee submitted the report after investigation.
After reviewing the report, Inspector (Unarmed) Ruhul Amin should be summoned for explanation and SI (Unarmed) Md. Alamgir Hossain, ASI (Unarmed) Md. Babul Mia, ASI (Unarmed) Md. Shah Paran Jannat, ASI (Unarmed) Mainul Hossain, Constable Md. Zahidur Rahman, Constable Abdur Rahman was temporarily suspended: instructions were given to file a departmental case.
On February 26 around 10:30 PM, DB inspector Ruhul Amin arrested the freelancer named Abu Bakar Siddique while drinking tea in the cooling corner of Baraka Enterprise under Bayezid Bostami police station.
Abu Bakar Siddique alleged that the policemen unlocked the mobile phone with his fingerprints. He was taken into DB custody at Mansoorabad that night. At that time, 5 lakhs and 10 lakhs of account in two banks were transferred from his mobile phone through mobile banking. Apart from this, 2 lakh 77 thousand dollars (about 3 crore 38 lakh taka) have been transferred from his Binance account.
Husnum Mamurat Lubaba, Abu Bakr’s wife, filed a case in court against 8 policemen and some other unknown defendants on March 5 for framing Abu Bakr in a false case and withdrawing money by threatening him with crossfire. The court took cognizance of the case and directed the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate.
