BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has been acquitted in the August 21 grenade attack case.
A High Court bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain gave the verdict on Sunday (December 1).
In addition, the eldest son of BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and the party’s current chairperson Khaleda Zia has been acquitted in two more sedition cases.
Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Third Court Judge Chhagir Ahmed has acquitted him in two sedition cases filed by Chhatra League leaders in Sylhet.
After being acquitted in these propaganda and conspiracy cases, Tarique Rahman posted a post on his verified page on social media Facebook. In it, he called on everyone in the country to unite to end political vendetta.
In this post posted on Sunday night, Tarique Rahman wrote, ‘The beauty of truth is that it inevitably defeats false propaganda and conspiracy. It gives us faith, at the end of the day, justice and fairness prevail.
Let us unite to end political vendetta and start a new chapter in history, where no one’s life or family will be destroyed due to political differences.
