The Central Intelligence Cell (CIC) of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has seized a locker belonging to former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The operation took place on Wednesday (10 September) at Pubali Bank’s Motijheel branch, confirmed CIC Director General Ahsan Habib.
According to CIC officials, locker No. 128, registered under Hasina’s name, had remained inactive for a long time. One of the two keys is reportedly still in the former prime minister’s possession.
A special CIC team was present during the seizure. They stated that the locker will be opened following proper legal procedures, though no official details about its contents have yet been disclosed.
DG Ahsan Habib told reporters, “We have initially confirmed the existence of the locker and seized it in line with legal protocols. Further details will be shared with the media once the investigation progresses.”
The inquiry will examine ownership records, assets inside the locker, and any related financial transactions.
