Advisor to the interim government Mahfuz Alam said, Bangladesh will not be defeated by anyone’s conspiracy again
On Wednesday (November 27) afternoon, Mahfuz Alam posted alone on his verified Facebook page.
Mahfuz Alam said in his post, ‘Greetings to the students and the public! You have made Bangladesh proud by showing an example of responsibility and compassion. Bangladesh will not be defeated by anyone’s conspiracy again. InshaAllah. ‘
He said, “Becoming a political community by being compassionate and responsible in the pursuit of our individual and collective ‘strength’ is salvation. This internal strength of ours will defeat any external enemy. We will no longer be colonizable. ’
Thanking the scholars, the advisor said, ‘Special thanks are due to the wise scholars and Muslim leaders. You have inspired Bengali Muslims to behave responsibly in favor of this mass uprising. Your wise initiatives today and in the future to ensure equal rights and dignity of all citizens regardless of religion, caste and gender will ensure your respect and participation in the Bangladesh state. ’
‘We have to build this state with a creative and positive mindset by getting out of the mentality of stubbornness, negativity and division. Only by organizing this state will the martyrdom of Shaheed Alif, including the martyrdom of July, become meaningful,’ added Mahfuz Alam.
After the fall of the Awami League government in the mass uprising on August 5, the students and the public hoisted a national flag on a pillar at the Zero Point of the New Market intersection in Chittagong city. Meanwhile, on October 25, a grand rally was held at Laldighi ground under the initiative of Bangladesh Sanatan Jagran Mancha. On that day, the people participating in the rally hoisted the saffron-colored religious flag of the religious group ISKCON over the national flag. This drew criticism across the country.
Later, BNP leader Firoz Khan (later expelled) filed a sedition case at the Kotwali Police Station in Chittagong, alleging that the national flag was insulted. In that case, former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das was arrested from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Monday (November 25). He was later taken to Chittagong. When he was produced in court on Tuesday (November 26), the judge ordered him to be sent to prison.
When Chinmoy was produced in court, his followers and supporters gathered there. At one point, they clashed with law enforcement near the court. At that time, a state lawyer named Saiful Islam Alif was hacked to death.
As the incident sparked nationwide concern, Mahfuz Alam took to his Facebook page to urge the countrymen to remain calm “to protect the people’s uprising and the sovereignty of Bangladesh.” He also wrote in the Facebook post, “The government will soon ensure appropriate action against all traitors and terrorists.”
