Those killed and injured in the July-August uprising will be recognized

Liberation War and Relief Advisor Faruk-e Azam said that those killed and injured in the July-August uprising will be recognized as martyrs and those injured as fighters. Each martyr and injured person will be given a certificate.

He informed reporters after the third session of the second day of the DC conference at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Monday (February 17).

Stating that the process of forming the July Directorate is in its final stage, Liberation War and Relief Advisor Faruk-e Azam said that the Directorate will be formed this week. A policy has also been made regarding the formation of the Directorate. Those who were martyred in the July uprising will be known as ‘July Martyrs’. In this regard, their families will receive certificates and identity cards. Those injured in the July uprising will be known as ‘July Fighters’. In view of this, they will get identity cards. They will also get other government benefits.

He said, under the July Directorate, savings certificates worth 30 lakh taka will be given to the families of the martyrs. Assistance will be provided in 3 categories for the injured. The injured will get lifelong treatment and allowance. The seriously injured will get a one-time allowance of 5 lakh taka and 20 thousand taka per month. The injured who have suffered a limb loss will get a one-time allowance of 15 thousand taka per month and a one-time allowance of 3 lakh taka. Those who were slightly injured, have received treatment and are recovering, they will get priority in the rehabilitation program including jobs. They will not get any allowance.

He also said that the injured will get training at different levels. They will be given priority employment in government, semi-government and other jobs. They will be appointed on the basis of merit.
