BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said that the people of the country have sent away tyranny from this country. Now it’s the turn of building the country in the coming days.
Tarique Rahman said this while virtually participating in the final game of the Shaheed Zia Memorial Football Tournament in Lalmonirhat on Thursday afternoon.
In his speech as the chief guest, Tarique Rahman said, ‘Bangladesh has 180 to 200 million people. We have many talented doctors, many engineers and many talented people of other professions. As a political activist, as a child of Bangladesh, I think that we should not only have talented doctors or engineers – in the coming days, we must definitely produce talented, that is, professional players and cultural workers. Which must be produced from the future generation.’
Lalmonirhat District BNP organized this tournament at the Shaheed Abul Kashem College ground in Sadar Upazila.
Tarique Rahman also said, ‘The games that are popular with the people of Bangladesh and are also popular at the international level; We will select eight to ten such games. We will select from among the people of this country, from among the children of the country, who can do well in those games.’
Asadul Habib Dulu, Organizing Secretary of the BNP Central Executive Committee and President of Lalmonirhat District BNP, presided over the program organized on the occasion of the final game. BNP National Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas, BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, and BFF Vice President Wahid Uddin Chowdhury spoke at the event.
BNP leaders from eight districts of Rangpur Division were present at the time.
10 organizational district teams of Rangpur Division BNP participated in the tournament. Rangpur Metropolitan BNP and Panchagarh District BNP teams faced each other in the final game. Panchagarh District BNP team defeated Rangpur Metropolitan BNP team by 5-6 goals in the tri-bagger and became the champion.
Earlier on November 12, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir inaugurated the Shaheed Zia Memorial Football Tournament.
